Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau - Marketing & Communications

The Roanoke Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau (RVCVB) exists to promote the Roanoke Valley in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains as a tourist destination. The organization is a major contributor to economic development and growth in the local economy, generating tourism related jobs and funding from annual expenditures and tax receipts. My primary responsibilities with the RVCVB relate to developing marketing and communications materials that help present Virginia's Blue Ridge as a viable destination. I focus on web content development and work primarily with the company website and other online marketing materials, including producing a monthly E-Newsletter that is distributed to nearly 20,000 people. I also assist the communications department with the writing of news releases and various other public relations initiatives.
Christ Fellowship - Adult Ministries & Small Groups

Christ Fellowship is a multi-site, nondenominational church in Palm Beach County, Florida. The church was founded in 1984 with about 40 people meeting in a house and has now grown to over 30,000 people across seven different campuses. I completed a one year professional internship program at Christ Fellowship working in the Adult Ministries department, specifically Small Groups. My responsibilities included: database management of over 400 small groups, coordinating training events for small group leaders, connecting people into existing small groups and creating new small groups, and serving as the point of contact for a specific campus. I was the Small Groups Community Leader for the CityPlace campus, which was considered an urban campus that consisted primarily of young adults, college students, and young families.
Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop - The Walt Disney World Resort

As an operating participant, the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company partners with The Walt Disney Company to offer their world famous chocolate to visitors of the most magical place on earth. The Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop is located in Downtown Disney and features a retail store as well as a soda fountain where people can order various ice cream dishes. I worked in the soda fountain section of the store and gained extensive experience in customer service and developed the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. I received outstanding customer service and guest relations training through The Walt Disney Company and used that training to offer visitors an experience of the highest quality that would meet the standards people have come to expect when visiting The Walt Disney World Resort.
University of Georgia Alumni Association - Student Worker

Located in the historic Wray-Nicholson House, the University of Georgia Alumni Association supports the state's flagship university to over 260,000 alumni around the world. The Alumni Association helps graduates stay connected to the university community and offers them networking opportunities and other various benefits. During my time with the Alumni Association, I served as a student worker that helped in a variety of aspects with the organization. I assisted in event planning and hosting, maintaining accurate membership databases, responding to inquiries about the University of Georgia and Athens communities, and numerous other office tasks.
