HaitiI was fortunate to be able to visit Haiti a couple of times during the summer after the earthquake and no place has had a greater impact on me. I now see poverty and hopelessness in a completely different light and live in a constant struggle of where my faith is too comfortable and based too much on the American dream. There are some people doing amazing things in Haiti and many Haitians who are trusting God to rescue their nation and bring about a revolution. And to be honest, it will take nothing short of a miracle from God. I love talking about my experiences in Haiti and sharing some of the ridiculous stories, which still make me laugh today. And I'd encourage you to check out the video to the right that I made of some of the incredible images from this unbelievable country.

South AfricaI have never been to a more amazing country in the world than South Africa. It's the most incredibly beautiful and diverse place I've ever seen. It is also one of the most culturally fascinating places I've ever seen. There is still a large amount of segregation and animosity between the various races and the country has a long way to go towards reaching any sort of unity. Nicole and I were blessed to spend three months in South Africa as part of a mission project and it is an experience that was extremely challenging but extremely rewarding. I am in the process of compiling my journal entries that I wrote while in South Africa and I am hoping to turn it into a sort of book. Hopefully that will help paint a picture and tell more of the story of our time there. Until then...just ask!
